Kate’s Questions to Us

1 Why did you start blogging?

I first set up my blog in July last year (under a different name) but by January 2017 I only had about 5 posts. I’ve ALWAYS loved writing and so didn’t know why I wasn’t motivated. In February, I forced myself to do a week of daily blogging and (luckily!) I caught the blogging bug! Since then, I haven’t ever left it more than 2 weeks without posting something. I’m trying to post more regularly these days but I’m still not organised enough to have a schedule!

2 Which blog post are you the most proud of?

Ummmmm, don’t you always find it’s the way that when you’re really proud of a blog post, it gets zero engagement??? The posts I find most fun to write are my Twitter Reviews (product reviews in 140 characters or less) and my one on England’s most popular baby names.

3 What was your favourite subject at school?

English was fun, because I never ever had to try but History was probably my favourite.

4 If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?

New York, even though I think it would overwhelm me!

5 – Can you speak any other languages?

Nope, although I am learning Russian on Duolingo at the moment! It’s always been my dream to speak Russian and German. I studied French at GCSE and absolutely HATED it.

6 – If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Wow, this is a tricky question! Probably As The World Falls Down from the movie Labyrinth.

7 – What’s your favourite film?

See above!! Haha, it’s probably a toss-up between Labyrinth or Legally Blonde. I don’t really watch films as I get bored and fidgety after more than an hour sat down doing nothing, but I make a point to watch both these films at least every other month! The day Netflix removed Labyrinth, I was very sad indeed.

8 – What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learnt in life?

I have learnt many lessons as I have made many many mistakes over the years. The biggest lesson I ever learned? Lying is bad and telling the truth can never go too badly wrong. And, if it does, it’s usually only because of someone else’s lies.

9 – What’s your favourite book?

I used to say Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, but these days I’d probably accredit that accolade to This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen which is nowhere near as cool. It’s a Young Adult love story, but I’ve re-read it every year since I first discovered it in my school’s library aged 11. And I’ve loved it even more every time I’ve re-read it.

10 – If you had to choose between dogs or cats, which would you choose?

I love all animals very much but as my family have always kept dogs, I’d have to choose dogs! We’ve always had Golden Retrievers and our dog is called Digby, he’s 8 years old but acts like he’s 2. We’ve had him since I was 16 and I definitely feel like he’s my best friend more than any human. My GCSE summer holiday, I was like his sole puppy carer and I think that’s when I fell in love with him so much. I grumble and groan when my parents ask me to dog-sit him every July when they go on holiday, but I secretly love it.

My Questions to You!

  1. Where do you want to be in your life in 5-years-time?
  2. What is your favourite thing about yourself?
  3. Who inspires you?
  4. Which 3 famous people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party?
  5. One self-care tip that you absolutely swear by on tough days?
  6. Tea or coffee?
  7. What is your favourite book?
  8. Name 3 small bloggers who you think are doing amazingly atm.
  9. What do you look for in a best friend?
  10. What are you grateful for today?

I also tag anybody who hasn’t done the Liebster Award yet and wants to! Thanks guys! P.
